Cecilia
Estate is located on Isola d’Elba (Elba Island, belonging
to the Tuscan Archipelago, in the Tyrrhenian sea)
, and makes wines from grapes grown on the local soil. Winemaking
began in 1990, with only two hectares cultivated with vine
and a cellar that was already modern. In 2001, the vineyard
holding had expanded to about ten hectares, most replanted
to more modern, quality-oriented criteria. |
The winemaking and
sales base is “La Casina” vineyard in the La
Pila district, two kilometres further north at “I
Marmi”, a completely restructured farmhouse in a panoramic
location overlooking the vines is the estate’s hospitality
and tasting centre. Cecilia Estate lies on the Etruscan
Coast Wine Route, and regards as priorities its cellar-door
sales and direct contacts with customers and other visitors
of all kinds. |
 |
| Cecilia’s
label graphic design is significant for the estate’s
image, as it was entirely developed on the estate itself,
by engineer Giuseppe Camerini. The graphics represent
a system based on the mathematical fractal principles that
underpin the formal harmony of derived compositions. |
| The cellar is equipped for all the major procedures demanded
by modern winemaking, and by the most severe hygiene regulations.
All fermentations are carried out at controlled temperatures,
and the wine, whether in vat, barrique or bottle, is kept
at a constant 14 °C,. Cecilia wines are reviewed in
the major Italian wine guides and enjoyed both on Elba,
where they are available at the best hotels and restaurants,
in the rest of Italy and abroad. |
