Massimo Golinelli,
a dynamic Emilian vine grower and wine producer, in the
90’s decided to move to Romagna to realize a lifelong
dream: construct his own cellar and produce fine wines. |
| He has been
fascinated with wine since he was a boy when his father
taught him the various ways of cultivating grapevines. |
| His parents
operated a small farm in the Bologna area, producing wine
that, back in those days, they sold on a bulk basis. And
today his passion for wine has been transformed into a cherished
lifetime project that he shares with his wife Monica. |
| Massimo’s ambition is to produce top quality wines
that exemplify the best turned out in the area around Cesena.
A territory that faces the sea and is well suited for both
olive oil and wine production. |
| In the 90’s
the primary challenge was to select a suitable piece of
land with plenty of exposure to the sun and to put together
an estate that would be big enough and not broken up into
multiple small segments. |
 |
In 1994 a piece
of land was found near the village of “Madonna Dell’Olivo”
that seemed to meet all of Massimo’s requirements.
And so his dream began taking form and was further advanced
by the planting of vineyards, the construction of a water
reservoir and plans for a wine producing facility.A crucial
step along the way was the meeting with enologist Vittorio
Fiore, one of the most authoritative wine experts in Italy.
Fiore was able to assist Massimo in the task of defining
and fine tuning the company philosophy: to obtain wines
that would respect and reflect the characteristics of the
local territory while still displaying their own distinctive
style.
Commitment, determination and curiosity, as well as care
and attention, first in the vineyards and then in the cellar,
are the key elements that accompanied Massimo in his long
pilgrimage toward quality. |
