Mocali Wine
Estate has belonged to the Ciacci Family since the
50es, today Tiziano Ciacci, the founder’s grandchild
and one of the 25 Brunello di Montalcino Consortium promoters,
has provided to modernize the Estate structures, the premises
appointed to the wine ageing - with Slovenian and French
oak barrels, French oak barriques - and planting new vineyards.
The Estate is located South-West
of Montalcino, at an altitude of 400 mts above sea
level, it has a total extension of about 32 hectares, of
which 9 ha vines (of which 6 ha Sangiovese Grosso - enrolled
to the Brunello di Montalcino Register) and 2 ha with olive
groves. |
The soil is mainly
composed by Galestro and Alberese that enrich the ground
with mineral salts, while the surrounding vegetation is
typical of this area: vineyards that alternate to olive
groves, Holm-oak and Oak woods and bushes.
Today
Tiziano is also the owner of few hectares (15 ha) of vineyards
in Sangiovese in Maremma, where he produces a superb Morellino
di Scansano DOC, named SUBERLÌ. |
